What does “full service” mean, and is that what you do?
Full service means different things at different companies, so it is worth asking exactly what is covered before you book. Some companies will pack your belongings into boxes, move them, then unpack at the other end.
We are a removals company rather than a packing company. Our crews load, transport, unload and place your furniture and boxes, and every job includes furniture blankets, trolleys and straps. We do not pack your belongings into boxes for you, and we do not offer storage. If you are packing yourself, we sell moving boxes and packing supplies.
How are removalists charged in Melbourne?
Local moves around Melbourne are charged by the hour, at a rate we tell you upfront so you can work out your own estimate before the truck arrives. A van and man starts from $40 per half hour. Do I need to be there on moving day?
Yes. You or someone you trust should be at both addresses. Someone needs to point out what goes on the truck, say where things belong at the new place, and check the job off at the end. If you cannot be there yourself, nominate a friend or family member and tell us who to expect.
