What a Melbourne to Sydney move costs
Interstate work uses the same upfront hourly rates as our local jobs, quoted before you book so there is nothing to argue about on the day:
- Van and man from $40 per half hour
- 4.5 tonne truck and two movers from $55 per half hour
- 6.5 tonne truck and two movers from $60 per half hour
Which one suits you depends on how much is coming. Tell us the main furniture items and roughly how many boxes when you ask for a quote and we will tell you what fits.
Access at the Sydney end is what catches people out
A move between two Melbourne houses is usually a driveway at both ends. A move into Sydney often is not. Check these at the new address before the truck leaves Victoria:
- Lift bookings. Apartment buildings commonly require the service lift to be booked for a set window, sometimes well in advance.
- Where a truck can legally stop, and for how long.
- Height limits. Underground car parks frequently will not clear a removal truck.
- Lift and stairwell size. Measure the big things — lounges, bed bases, fridges — against the lift door.
An hour spent sorting this out beforehand is worth a great deal more than an hour spent on it while a loaded truck waits outside.

What we do not do
We do not offer a packing service and we do not offer storage. Everything needs to be packed, sealed and labelled before we arrive. If you need boxes, tape or protective wrap, you can buy them from our shop.

Will you take unwanted furniture away before we go?
Yes, through our rubbish removal service. Moving less interstate costs less, so it is worth deciding what is not coming before you book.
Which other states do you service?
